Sitting in a Checked Suit
£1,920.00
In January 1975, Tommy Nutter held an exhibition of experimental tailoring designs at an art gallery in New York. The exhibition showcased all the clothes that Edward had made for friends of the photographer, David nutter, and was photographed by David in Central Park. The photographs were shown in The Lajeski Gallery along with each suit pictured, displayed on a mannequin. This showcase was a radical move for a bespoke tailor at the time; a display more closely associated with couturiers. It helped to cement Nutters’ identity as a design house, as well as its reputation for bespoke tailoring.
