Charcoal Slub Suit
Jackets balance from the shoulder, so we encourage clients to prioritise the shoulder fit. The chest then flows in proportion from the shoulders, and the waist of a jacket can be adjusted in or out with an alteration.
To select the right size jacket, we recommend first measuring your shoulders as indicated in Figure 1, then subtracting 7”, and starting with the jacket of this size. For example, if your measurement around the shoulders is 47", then a size 40" jacket would be the best fit for you.
Alternatively, in Figure 2 below. We have provided the garment measures, which you can cross reference against a current piece of clothing you own.
Size | Shoulder | Chest | Waist |
38 | 45 | 37 - 39 | 32 - 34 |
40 | 47 | 39 - 41 | 34 - 36 |
42 | 49 | 41 - 43 | 36 - 38 |
44 | 51 | 43 - 45 | 38 - 40 |
46 | 53 | 45 - 47 | 40 - 42 |
48 | 55 | 47 - 49 | 42 - 44 |

Other measurements can be checked using the size chart in Fig. 2. Using an existing jacket you own, you can compare the selected size against the following parts of the jacket.
1. The point-to-point is measured as the distance between the shoulder seams on the back, accounting for the drape and gentle curving of the jacket across the back; this measurement is best taken while wearing your fitted jacket.
2. The half-waist is measured with the jacket lying flat, from the front edge to the centre-back seam at the height of the first button; this is the waist position on ourjackets.
3. The sleeve length is measured from the crown – the highest point at which the sleeve meets the shoulder seam – straight down to the cuff, while wearing the jacket.
4. The back length is measured from the base of the collar to the hem, while wearing the jacket.
We recommend that you don’t over-stretch your tape measure.

Size | 1. Point-to-point | 2. Half Waist | 3. Sleeve | 4.Back Length | 5.Lapel |
38 | 17 1⁄2 | 18 5⁄8 | 24 3⁄4 | 30 1⁄4 | 4 1⁄4 |

42 | 18 1⁄2 | 20 5⁄8 | 25 1⁄4 | 30 3⁄4 | 4 3⁄4 |
44 | 19 | 21 5⁄8 | 25 1⁄2 | 31 1⁄8 | 5 |
46 | 19 1⁄2 | 22 1⁄2 | 25 3⁄4 | 31 3⁄8 | 5 1⁄4 |
48 | 20 | 23 5⁄8 | 26 | 31 5⁄8 | 5 1⁄2 |
To help you choose the right size trousers, we recommend fitting the hip and consequently letting in or taking out the waist, for which we provide a 2” inlay. The hip is measured around widest part of the seat, standing straight and with your feet together.
There is additional inlay in the fork, to permit more room if required.
The inseam is measured from the crotch down to the inside leg, and we again provide 2” of inlay to lengthen as required.
We recommend that you don’t over-stretch your tape measure.

Jacket Block
Our Heritage Jacket is the epitome of the Sexton look, cut with confident peak lapels, a straight shoulder line and one button to fasten. Single-breasted one-button jackets like this contribute to a lean, athletic look. The single button focuses the eye on the wearer’s natural waistline, while a broad lapel draws the eye towards the shoulders, which contrasts with the jacket’s slim waist. The overall impression is supremely elegant, and true to our art deco reference points.

Cloth information
Woven in Italy, weighing 270g, this charcoal cloth is a blend of 80% wool and 20% linen. The high wool content provides durability and crease resistance, perfectly complemented by the linen, which brings a coolness to the wearer and a dry, matte finish to the cloth.
