The Edward Sexton greatcoat is our pièce de résistance, a luxurious coat that is both elegant in appearance and a technical feat of cutting and tailoring. Inspired by mid-century military overcoats, with a generous stand-and-fall collar, full wrap, ’S-shaped’ double-breasted closure and a pleated and panelled back, it’s an elevated, imposing overcoat, destined to impress passers by for years to come.
This midnight blue wool greatcoat is the result of almost two years of meticulous cutting and tailoring; Edward has refined this coat’s pattern over many months, ensuring that it captures everything that makes our bespoke overcoats special in a beautifully made ready-to-wear limited edition. Dramatic and imposing, it is cut to fall to the shins with a generous double-breasted front that buttons to the nape of the neck, and oversized stand-and-fall collar. The body coat back runs into deep box pleats with a half-belt overlaid across the waist seam. It is finished with delicate top-stitching and double-sided buttonholes along the length of both lapels.
The cloth itself is a sumptuously soft 18oz wool with 15% cashmere, woven in Italy, which feels both luxurious and robust to wear. True to our DNA and beautifully tailored, this timeless overcoat is destined to become one of your most treasured pieces of fine tailoring.
About the block
The Edward Sexton greatcoat packs a punch, with its dramatic length, broad sweeping lapels, deep box pleat in the back, it is a lot of coat. Inspired by a naval great coat, with a generous stand-and-fall collar, full wrap, S-shaped double-breasted closure that can be worn as a double breasted with a lapel or fastened all the way to the top to protect you from the most severe weather.

Made to order garments are based on our ready to wear garment measurements, as seen on our size guide. This option allows you to order an out of stock garment to be created for you specially - without changes to measurements or style. This service is predominantly for existing customers who are familiar with how our garments fit, but require a size that is unavailable or sold out in store.
Standard make time for Made to Order garments is 6-8 weeks, though express options and associated fees are available. For express items, please contact the team.
Made to Measure garments are priced slightly higher than Made to Order and will require a consultation with one of our team. Existing customers can just email us to order a made to measure garment.
